ELECTION DAY IS STILL six days away, but more than 74.78 million early votes have already been cast and more than three dozen states have already surpassed their early-voting totals of 2016.
Of the early votes, more than 49.24 million have been mail-in ballots, while more than 25.49 million have been in-person votes, according to data compiled by the United States Elections Project.
Nationally, more than half, 54.2%, of the total votes counted in the 2016 election have already been cast. Approximately 138.9 million people voted in the last presidential election.
